Maybe I need another cup of coffee, but ...
Is the OP price incorrect? This would cost $90 total ($55 for signup/first month + $35 for second month)?

Edit/Addition for future readers (who don't go past the first page):
OP price is correct if you want the phone to use on ST the final cost is just the 1-month plan ($55). My comment about the final price being higher, was for this phone to be unlocked, which would involve purchasing one additional month of service, which would not necessarily need to be the Gold Unlimited plan.

Activated phone when IMEI became available online while the phone is prepped for shipping. Request a new number and it worked for both phones.

This is one of the few phones left in 2025 with a full feature set...

5G Modem.
8GB ram / 128GB rom
OIS on main camera.
5000 mah battery.
QI charging.
SD card slot.
Headphone jack.
IP68 resistance.

This beats out the S25 Ultra and the iPhone 17 pro max in terms of features... for less than $100 each.

Phone will not start unlock clock until you actually activate it and requires 60 days of service after it's activated.
Thank you! Does the Straight Talk cellular service start when the phone is shipped or when you actually activate it?

Diggin this phone, nice mid grade after debloat and deGoogle. Got a decent easy to remember number, but I also get 2 or more calls daily for old number holder, from a hospital wanting them to check in with their doc. Probably not good.

Got mine. It's a fully branded Verizon phone - is this normal? There is zero straighttalk mvno branding. Even the startup animations show a vzw logo. Network name is verizon. Software is VZW. I know ST is a mvno of verizon but still.
Hoping to get android 16 before it unlocks so I can factory reset and possibly use it as a daily. Easily worth the wait and price for unlock, except needing to remove the excessive bloat.

It works with a Visible SIM right out of the box, so I assume its a "Verizion Value" phone, not a "Straight Talk" phone.

Verizon owns all the Tracfone MVNOs now and has started putting their name on all those phones.

Coincidence but I recently switched to visible. Would putting my visible sim into the moto mess with the 60 days activation for unlock?

StraightSAVINGS! plan enrollment requires a compatible, unlocked device that has not been activated on Straight Talk for prior 12 mos. New line of service required. Bonus device credit requires active service on StraightSAVINGS! plan for 12 mos, and a Straight Talk Rewards membership to redeem device credit. You must remain on an eligible device for first 12 mos of service to be eligible for StraightSAVINGS! plan. Cannot be combined with other offers. Taxes and fees apply. ©2024 VERIZON.

Easier to just rebrand/re-sku the Moto phone to Tracfone if you just need a cheap plan to unlock it. I used this [bestbuy.com] in the past.
Can I ask, If I buy this phone in store with the sliver plan/activate, should I wait the full 30 days and then rebrand with Tracfone and buy the $19.99 plan. Do you think it will work..

Also if I buy on online, (phone/plan) just to get the phone and don't activate with Straight Talk and activate with Tracfone with the $19,99 will that work.

Thanks

I would be hesitant to do that if you want to unlock it. I have Visible and have had it for years so I'm OK with it never unlocking.

If you want to be certain the phone unlocks it's best to not switch until after that happens. I've had success buying a Straight Talk phone and then rebranding to Tracfone BEFORE activating, but once activated on Straight Talk it's best to wait the 60 days before switching.

I think I hear you.
So you think if I buy it online but don't actually activate it. Call and rebrand it with TracFone and pay the $19.99 plan, do you think that would work.

I got the staraight talk iphone 12 mini from the previous deal with 3 month plan. My question is, after using the first two month for iphone 12 mini to unlock, can i use the last month as 2nd month to unlock this phone. I know i need to line up the time very well.

Got the phone (and tablet) activated and set up.
Is the "best" process to complete the unlock:
  1. Change to Bronze Plan (could enroll in auto-payment to save $1)
  2. Go ahead and make the next month's payment (yes this is paying earlier than necessary but avoids the perils of forgetting (missing a payment or making extra payments via autopay)).
  3. Make sure autopay is not on and remove credit card info.
  4. Leave the ST sim in the phone and wait for the phone to unlock after 60 days (can use it or put it in a drawer).

If anyone has Chase credit cards, go into your app or account and check the offers section. I had StraightTalk 15% cash back on 3 out of 4 cards. Got $7 back for the initial purchase of phone + silver plan. It's one-time use, but if you have multiple Chase cards, use a different card on the 2nd month for another 15% cb. In the offers section, either manually look for it or search "wireless." Add the offer to your card and use.

I plan on using another Chase card for the 2nd month on the bronze plan, which will give $5 cb. So roughly ~$70 total when all said and done.

That seems to be the correct method. Make sure the second month goes into reserve and it will automatically be added after the first month expires.

60 days of service does not have to be continuous.
