This 45 inch LG UltraGear OLED stands out for its huge 5120 by 2160 canvas, deep blacks, sharp color, and very strong gaming performance. The 800R curve and semi gloss coating are part of the appeal for immersive play, and the price is described as the best seen for a new unit. The main tradeoffs are that the curve can feel too aggressive for productivity, there is no built in KVM, and the panel is not 4K. Deal access also appears to have become shaky as the code and model moved onto exclusion lists.

That ... doesn't sound right . Usually high refresh rates reduce eye strain not increase it . It's probably something else - brightness , clarity driven by the subpixel layout , staying too close etc. anyway general use especially gaming will take advantage of high refresh rates

So I'm hoping to find a solid 5080 prebuilt for $2k~ish come Black Friday. Will likely use it with my 65" G4 for the time being, but eventually want to get an OLED monitor once I have a desk and everything. I currently use a 32-34" non-OLED, slight curved (1800R?) in our office, and a Samsung G9 Odyssey 49" OLED at work (really cool, but def seems like overkill for at-home gaming).

Is this one of the BEST OLED monitors on the market right now? I've seen so many varying opinions. The LG Ultrawides 39-45", the ASUS ROG Swift 32" 4K, some MSI that seems to rival the ASUS, etc, etc.

What's the "G4/G5 equivalent" as far as monitors go that won't set me back more than $1k~?
For the size I think it's one of the best. I am not a fan of matte coating but this one has some matte/ semi-gloss coating on it ? I dunno what trickery LG is using but assuming you're not specifically looking for gloss coating then this monitor would be a winner.

How do we get this deal without some company email affiliation?
You can use ID.ME if you work in Government, Military, Healthcare or Education. If not, you can apply for a Partner account using your WORK email (that has worked for some)

Yes, I really want this at 1000R or even 1500R. I want to use it for gaming and productivity.
This is my biggest concern as well. I currently own an LG Ultragear 38-inch at 2300R and 3840x1600 at 175 Hz. I've had this monitor 7 years now and I absolutely LOVE it... best monitor I have ever owned to date. I work from home in IT, so productivity is my main use case (90%), but it does handle gaming quite well when I need it (Cyberpunk was just gorgeous on it). And now that I just upgraded to a 5080, I have the itch to upgrade my monitor as well - anything for 1,200 or less at these specs is a total steal.
I could probably go down to 1500R or maybe even 1200R, but I think 800 might be a bit too much. I will have to search to see if I can find it on display somewhere before I can pull the trigger. I imagine prices will continue to drop as we get closer to Black Friday...

People react differently it doesn't imply there's something wrong.

I bought this in late September but now it is $150 cheaper and I am past the return window. It's a great monitor. Very clean, sharp, colorful picture with deep blacks. No issues at all.

Fucccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccck. I was waiting to re-buy it on the 26th since they won't allow price matches when I called them few days ago. I just bought this last week.

Yea, initially I emailed asking if they could do a price adjustment and was denied. Afterwards I tried calling and spoke to a rep who also denied me and said the only thing I could do was a return and repurchase for another unit. Free returns within 14 days of your delivery (no restocking fee). The rep initiated a ticket, which took a day or two to generate the return label. You have another 14 days from getting the label to actually do the return.
Thanks got to enjoy it for a couple weeks before doing the thing, haha!, did you request a pickup or you took it for the return?
