I had a 12 mini for 4 years, replaced it with a 13 mini when it died after water damage about a year ago. The 13 mini is definitely an upgrade on battery life and camera quality...but the 12 mini was fine as long as you are not a heavy user and/or you have the ability to recharge during the day. In any case, neither phone makes it through an entire day without a recharge with my moderate to heavy use. That's the trade off for its smaller size. I wish Apple would release another 5.4" phone with modern chips and a bigger battery.

this is a 5 year old phone, might wanna wait for black friday. i got a 3rd gen SE which is 2 years newer than this for $99 back in 2023

Yes, my daily phone is a 12 mini and updates to the latest iOS and apps. Phone is probably worth $100 now.

For quite awhile this phone was being sold by Straight Talk for $400 or $450, so the drop to $180 and now $0 is already significant. Between a $5 cash back and $25 Amex offer it comes down just barely more than what Apple would want just to replace the battery in my existing 12 mini ($93.41 vs $89).

Stock up on phone cases, if you can find them (I suggest B08XXNF64T on Amazon).

The device is more ideal for people who live outside their phone, rather than in it. The SE has the large black borders so the 12 mini has a much larger screen compared to the overall size of the phone.

I just wish the trade in value on these was a little higher since I don't really need any more old iPhones

think it needs to be in the phone for 2 months to unlock it first. If u dont care about the unlock u prob could just use it on another phone and keep the 12 as a spare but it will be locked
