Better off getting one with a battery for a few bucks more. They are quite handy to have around.

I'd say the exact opposite -- don't get a battery. They're not user replaceable -- and when they eventually die, they can get puffy & potentially leak. And many devices need a functional battery to operate, even in wired-mode.

All of mine have come with 18650 batteries and are extremely easy to replace.

It's great for camping or hanging outside on a hot day. My only gripe with that one is that it isn't usb-c, or it wasn't when I bought it 6 years ago, they may have an updated one now. I keep an adapter in it.

If it's a push button three speed type one they are kind of annoying. Manual switch ones I prefer
