After tax this was $66.33 for me, so this works out to $22 a month for Ultimate. Is that the right conversion rate?

Nope, it only converts to 3 months of ultimate cuz M$ are bastards. The best deal right now is the $55-$60 3 month ultimate cards. Quite suspiciously there are a ton of $60~ 3 month ultimate cards available from the big retailers after that $30 price hike. Almost like M$ is taxing the lazy/inattentive with an extra $10 tax for a free cash grab.
