Bambu Lab's sale stands out as a strong entry point for easy, reliable printing, especially the P1S at $399 and the A1 or A1 Mini for beginners. The ecosystem, app printing, and MakerWorld integration make setup and model access feel simple, and the printers are praised for skipping bed leveling and tuning while delivering consistent first layers. The P1S gets extra credit for enclosure support and dependable long runs, while the A1 series is favored for easier nozzle changes and flow calibration. Main caveats are AMS pricing and packaging, since the combo often includes the first generation unit, some accessories ship separately, and multicolor printing adds waste and time.

Common Questions (5)

  • The AMS 2 Pro adds filament drying, which is useful if you want dry spools ready to print or already planned to buy a separate dryer. The regular AMS still handles multi-color printing and can be kept dry with desiccant, so the upgrade is most compelling if drying convenience matters to you.

  • Yes. It is described as a very easy, turnkey printer that removes bed leveling and tuning, and it is especially appealing if you want a reliable machine for PLA, PETG, and TPU without much tinkering. The enclosure also makes it the better pick if you may later print hotter materials like ABS.

  • Get the A1 if you can afford the extra cost and space, because the larger build plate lets you print more parts and avoids running into size limits later. The A1 Mini is still praised as an easy, fun starter printer, but several comments note regretting not buying the larger A1.

  • Yes. The A-series can now use the regular AMS with Bambu's newer connection update, and the P1S can also run AMS setups normally. For the A1, the needed adapter/dongle is mentioned as a small extra purchase.

  • The P1S Combo includes the first-generation AMS, not the newer AMS 2 Pro. If you want the AMS 2 Pro, you need the separate P1S AMS 2 Pro bundle or to buy the upgrade path.

Want to buy a 3d printer for my 10yr old to get into. What capability does the ams or ams 2 get me? Just different colors for the same print? For the $400 I'm fine with black only and we can expand if he gets into it? Or does it do more than just multi color?

So the AMS2 is also a filament dryer which isn't a big deal unless your house is incredible humid (My printers are in my basement with average of 50-55%) or you are printing filaments that are bonkers suspectable to moisture like Nylon (you won't be). The regular AMS you can put little desiccant packets in and will keep things dry.

Moisture aside, yes it is just for multi color printing and honestly at this point I don't even use mine that much for multi color I keep it loaded with 4 of the same filament and it just switches to the next when I run out. Multi color is super fun but it generates a lot of waste with the switching of colors and having to purge the old color out of the nozzle, and adds a ton of print time for the printer to mechanically do the color swap. If you think it is a good deal go for it and I'm sure it would blow a 10 year olds mind (prolly not they live in 2025 it blows my mind every day but im 42 and how far we've come is incredible to me)
Also you can print whatever single color you want with the printer not just black, the AMS just allows you to print up to 4 colors on a single print.

I messed up and placed an order this morning. I may have screwed myself out of $100. Bought the PS1 Combo for $650
Submit a ticket for a refund (usually a gift card). They will give you a gift card of the difference if you bought it within like the last 2 or so weeks before a sale starts.

Yes! Been waiting for the A1 mini to drop
I would suggest not honestly it's a great printer don't get me wrong but when you go to try and print something and realize it won't fit and trust me you will. Trust me just buy the A1. Spend once cry once.

Few questions all. First, I saw a post(possibly rumor) saying the P2S is coming in November for $799. Anyone have knowledge on this? Second, doesthe Microcenter deal for the P1S/AMS 2 combo($592) just come with the buffer and no hub? On Bambu site the P1S/AMS 2 combo with hub is $619. Am I able to buy the hub separately if I wanted to buy combo from Microcenter? I couldn't seem to find it on the Bambu site. Thanks all

I've got plenty of aluminum rails and acrylic panels. Should I save some $$$ and get the A1 Combo and build my own enclosure vs the P1S Combo?

Edit: Got the A1 Combo for local pickup at Microcenter. Can't beat the price of $406 after tax

Its not exactly clear when it is coming, but its already been released everywhere but US (bcuz of tariff stuff im sure) so if you check the pricing from other countries that'll give you a good idea what it will end up costing here. I dunno much about microcenter (none around me) but yes you can buy the HUB separate if you need to later. Should be able to find it by searching hub

hi guys. my 10 year old enjoys 3D printing (the actual printing part rather than the engineering cad work), and wants to print stuff leisurely. do you guys have any recommendatinos on which one to get?
Bambu are super easy to use. He'll love it.
I have the P1P (lower model) and it works so well. I'm going to upgrade to the P1S with AMS. The AMS lets you do multiple color prints.

The P1S @ $399 is a great deal. These are normally $600+
The AMS is usually $300+ on it's own if you have an extra $200 to splurge with.
I haven't used the A1 but have heard good things. It's basically a bare-bones P1 with out the frame.

Thanks man, I appreciate you taking the time. If the price was indeed $799 and coming relatively soon, I could wait. Just in a small dilemma to purchase this deal or wait. Just don't wanna go past $799 for a first printer.

Have an X1 and A1 already. The P1S for $400 looks really good but I ended up just getting another A1 Combo for $395 shipped. The A1 does most everything I want and still has the easier nozzle change. You get the AMS lite with the printer for less than the cost of just the P1S. I don't think you go wrong either direction.

I think for the cost difference I would go P2S. Also they said they are going to continue to sell the P1S so I can't imagine the price will change much after black friday sale.

I guess I will just cancel my Best Buy order at $550, Bambu Lab has AMS2 Combo with ams hub at $619. But if the P2S comes out at $799 then I am going to regret not waiting for it.
Decisions, decisions...

Damn so many models starting to get confused.
The fast innovation and drops in pricing in the 3D printing space.. Is giving me flash back of how the PC and 3D accelerator are in the late 1990s
You buy something and 6 months later something way better comes out at the same price.
At least Bambu does a good job of keeping accessories compatible across multiple models and documenting compatibility. Creality is the worst at this. They've released so many different models with only slight differences and it's hard to discern what's compatible with what. For example, I have a CR-10 Smart (which isn't even that old) which now appears to be bricked because the ribbon cable malfunctioned and it's impossible to find a replacement for that simple part.

What's the difference between the P1S and P1S combo besides the latter being a bit more expensive?

you can get the P1S AMS2 pro combo for $50 more than the P1S AMS combo. Just ordered it $599.
What's the difference between PS1/AMS2 Combo with Buffer ($599) or PS1/AMS2 Combo with Hub ($619)
