I really wanted these but a number of the reviews mention the bottom separating when pouring hot liquids into them. Seems to happen after a year or so but it's traumatizing enough people are going back and reviewing to alert others.

I really wanted these but a number of the reviews mention the bottom separating when pouring hot liquids into them. Seems to happen after a year or so but it's traumatizing enough people are going back and reviewing to alert others.

Waaaaaay too many reviews with picture proof that they randomly shatter and break apart. No thank you. Never owned a mug that had the bottom fall out from hot coffee and hopefully never will.

Capitalism has failed us.

I've had these for 8 years and used them thoroughly with hot coffee and random microwavings of boiling water. No issues whatsoever -- 1 broke when I dropped it on a hard floor but that's it.

The reviews about the issues with the bottom separating seem to be those purchased within the past few years. They may changed something in the manufacturing since you bought yours eight years ago.
