how do you get the eyes to come on with a timer(ie, 6-8 hours then off like most of these things usually have built in), etc, stupid that there is only an on and off switch.. are there any after market options to change this?

Unfortunately, no. (practically speaking)The lights are switch-based and powered by batteries. However if you are a good electrician, you can certainly start creating wire systems to power and run it on a timer. You would be remaking the entire system for those lights though. You would be better off getting a timer plug and some red lights yourself and then just popping it into the skeleton head, totally ignoring their built in light system. Again, an involved workaround but probably easier than remaking their system.

They one I bought had a demo switch on it that you disconnect when using it. When you press the demo switch it would turn the eye lights on. i could see finding some sort of switch timer and running the wires from the demo switch (cut off the demo switch, strip the wires) into the time. Can use Arduino or Raspberry Pi kits. Need some technical skills though.

I just leave it off and illuminate from the front with flood lights for my setup.

i have seen a few people take the demo cord and wire it into a timer.... also saw one guy take the demo wire and wire it into the foot pads that spirt Halloween uses that way you dont have to rewire the whole prop you can google and find a few utube videos on it..... might be fun to figure out???

Following, can't picture it , can you drop a link to a video. Really stupid of them to not have a simple 6 hours on/ 18 hours off type switch which most of these things all have built in. There are AAA/AA battery replacement adaptors I saw that put 4.5V to the battery compartment with an ac adaptor but those cost $15 and this thing only cost $20... kind of defeats the purpose if now it's almost $40 to get it to light up the eyes on it's own w/ the regular on/off master switch I use for outside... If there is a cheaper option to do this . I'm all ears....plus I ordered 2 of them... thx

Difference with that one is the fingers aren't moveable, but if folks don't need the fingers to move then that is a good option.
