Metro's unlock policy is 365 days from activation.
Some users have mentioned you just have to activate it and can cancel the service and wait 11 months. Then when 365 days comes around make sure the device is on WIFI to have it unlocked.

I think it's the firmware from Moto. Something about it makes the Stylus and Edge models sluggish.
