Ego's best residential mower. This model rarely goes on sale (yet) and it appears Ego is hiking the prices on their mowers soon. For context Lowes restocked the LM2206SP and now lists at $1,499. They are releasing a new 30" model next season but it will start at $1,799 for the mower only...

Shipping is an additional $68 but if you join their annual club for $40 (cancellable) you qualify for free shipping.

Is Mickey Mouse in charge of their marketing department?

You actually have to search for 'Self-Propelled'.

I'm a huge proponent of Ego. I have their powerhead, and every tool that goes with it just about. But the mower is literally the one tool that sits and never gets used. I detest mowing with it. While I love self propelled mowers, whoever decided to make it RWD instead of FWD, never mowed a lawn in their life. The move is to push down on the mower to make it wheelie the front wheels up, so you can turn and pivot it around, and start the next run/line. But with ego, if you're using the drivetrain, the RWD just keeps turning and chews on the grass during the pivot. FWD designs don't have this problem, because the turning wheels are in the air. Or lets say you need to get into a bushy bush and mow underneath it. This requires an "in and out" motion. You're better off just disabling the drivetrain here for Ego, because it will fight you trying to pull back the mower. Mowers with FWD assist you in getting underneath, then a little push down to get the front wheels up and pull back, and go again. Much quicker and efficient.

So while I love ego, I hate the mowers. I'll be first in line to buy a FWD ego mower with 2x 10aH batteries, select cut, etc. though for $999. Any higher and I'm considering a zero turn instead.

Come on over the greenworks side. You want to turn, you have to turn off selfpropel at least a foot early before you turn or the rear wheels remain locked and dig up.

EGO's drivetrain button a hassle in turns? Nah, it's a quick grip tap. So ur issue is u want to keep the drivetrain running in turns and then drop freewheeling front drive wheels in to the lawn rather than stopping and starting between turns? This makes ur life easier because u don't have to think about when to stop and start the drivetrain. This is ur issue? The ego drivetrain start stop is an easy press on the grip during turns. Pretty much a non issue unless ur real issue is just cutting the lawn or ur actually a competitor social media account astroturfing.
