Far worse. Not happy with my Jamo set at all. No midrange drivers! Do you see any? Worst center channel I've never heard and it's now in the closet. I had it +8dB just to make out dialog. That subwoofer doesn't have enough box volume to do anything meaningful.

If you live in an apartment and don't want to upset your neighbors, then this is the system for you.

I've had the bookshelf set of these for about 3 or 4 years and am very happy with them. My advice is to get the set without their sub and save up for a better one. I went with an Svs sub which is awesome but also expensive. My intention was to upgrade from these in a year or two and I never really saw the need to as to me they sound great.

Yeah, wondering if these are worth it compared to something like the polk signature elite series.

Get anything that does 5.1 audio and 4k video. Stay away from onkyo models from over about 5 years ago before they fixed the hdmi output heat issue

Imo they're great and unless youre going SVS quality you probably won't notice much of a difference if you calibrate with dirac

I have them with two book shelves being used as heights - this is ok not alot of content benefits from them yet.

I also have a second subwoofer in the rear this will probably offer you the best boost.

As far as speakers go from my own research

Expensive audiophile brands > SVS > REL > Monoprice > Bic > polk > kilpsch > jamo

I have 6 of the Jamo bookshelves and an SVS sub with a Denon S970h in a 5.1.2 setup. They really punch above their weight. I've tried Klipsch and Kef and honestly the Jamos sound better.

What is the HDMI heat issue? Can you elaborate?

The main difference that you will probably notice if you were to compare these to the Klipsch in terms of sound quality is the Klipsch are going to be more treble forward and these are going to be more laid back in the treble. The Klipsch horn tweeter is a staple in their lineup and some people swear by it and other people hate it. Of course I'm generalizing here as I don't know what Klipsch speakers your comparing, the RP line is better than the Reference set but both have the same tech in the tweeter. My opinion is you can EQ with pretty much any receiver these days so go with the best bang for the buck and what you want to see in your room (if looks matter to you).

P.S I forgot to address the subwoofer I've not heard the Jamo sub but just based on the box size I would guess it would be outperformed by the Klipsch. I use a 12" Klipsch and I love it no complaints.
