At 78, with a hip replacement already, & the other slated for January, lift chairs can be a real boon. You'll know in due time if you live.

Former EMS worker here. I never knew these existed! I've been to calls where we've had unresponsive and obese patients in recliners. Took a lot of manpower to get people out.

And have even had to do a few lift assists where geriatric folks just don't have the strength to get themselves up (and either through stubbornness or weakness don't call for help until many hours later.)
This model has a maximum weight limit of 350 lbs, so it wouldn't be suitable for an extremely obese person. However, I suppose it's more appropriate for elderly or younger individuals who might have knee or back problems.

My Dad in his very late 80's after fighting cancer throughout his body and surviving (in most of his spine & bones) had a very tough time trying to stand up from a sitting position after many rounds of chemo and radiation and the damage the cancer had caused to his cartilage. This was over twenty something years ago. Remember these lift chairs being available only at medical supply places. They were not the greatest styles but will admit a true lifesaver. My 105 lb mom of the same age certainly wasn't able to lift him by herself. To see these now looking not so utilitarian and a fraction of the price is unreal. Back then being sold as a medical supply the prices were Pure robbery, something basic started at well over $4000.

For anyone who this could assist and give some help to living on their own. This is a fab deal

I'm more curious if that 350lb limit is to not break the chair by sitting in it...or if that is the weight lifting limit the chair can do without destroying the engine. Definitely wouldn't help the my 900 lb life people.

And for the EMS guys if he sees this. I work in the airlines, did the ground work with luggage and tickets for 6 years now I'm in the air. I've had to lift plenty of morbidly obese individuals in and out of wheelchairs and their seats, as well as cadavers from the cargo bins of ppl that died of obvious causes before getting back home with the biggest being over 600lbs and barely fitting into the cargo bin of a DC9(the biggest plane we had at our airport) without a casket. Hurt my back doing all of that as those people weighed 2-4x more than me at the time and currently. Would have loved machine help with lifting those ppl too...or you know, maybe them taking accountability or something with their lives.

I need one that reclines all the way back to sleep in, also I'd prefer one with a lever to let the foot rest out because if the power goes out or the chair quits working you're doomed.

This thing will start flaking and peeling until disintegration after x years and as furniture, have fun to anyone cleaning and lugging this out the home. Never ever buying PU leather unless its lightweight for disposal

Where is the microfiber option??

Got my dad a version of this chair ~5 years ago when he was going through the same thing. It was the best way for him to be more independent and getting up on his own. Honestly, it is really comfortable and I nap very easily in it!
