This OmniBook 5 stands out as a well equipped 16 inch HP laptop for everyday use, with a backlit keyboard, two USB C ports with power delivery, and a 59 Whr battery. The Ryzen AI 5 340 configuration gets compared against pricier options, and the higher spec Ryzen AI 7 350 model with 1 TB storage and touchscreen is seen as worth the extra cost for some. The main tradeoffs are a small battery, no touch on this version, and a heavier 5.5 pound build. Deal timing and returns also matter here, since it is sold while supplies last and Staples may not offer a standard 30 day return window.
Common Questions (5)
It appears to use a 59 Whr battery. An online review also estimated about 11 hours of battery life, though the laptop is still described as small-battery in practice.
This $479.99 configuration has a 16" FHD+ IPS display with no touch support and no numeric keypad. A higher-spec alternative mentioned in the thread swaps to a 1TB SSD and numeric keypad but still drops touchscreen.
Technology and business machines such as laptops may be returned within 14 days of receipt. That shorter window matters if you want time to test the machine before keeping it.
M.2 2280 means the laptop uses full-size M.2 SSDs rather than the smaller ultra-compact sizes. It is a compatibility spec for the drive form factor.
The deal runs Sunday through Saturday while supplies last, and there are no rainchecks. That means the price can disappear before the week ends if stock runs out.
