Wow, these are still around? Very old by electronics standards.
I have the very similar 1070, which I just replaced with a Sony HT-A5000 for Atmos support and tighter integration with a Sony Bravia TV. The Yamaha was great for me and this is a low price but these are looking pretty dated, and the built-in subs suck. One nice feature on an older soundbar like this is the subwoofer output so you can connect any wired sub, while a lot of newer models require same-brand wireless subs.

This looks to be the model without the wired sub output.

Yamaha site says Subwoofer output: Yes
It does not say specifically wired. correction- further down, it says "wireless subwoofer: no"

Great deal for 40. Got it at 50 and happy with it. The sound is better than the TV but not amazing by any means. The dialog is not super clear when watching tv. Music sounds alright. But at the price, no complaints.

Same here. The soundbar is decent for $50, but it's not as clear as my Polk. I realized it's because the speakers face upward, so the sound bounces off the ceiling before reaching you.

Have you tried the Clear Voice function?

I'm surprised you didn't like the built in subs.

It's one of the best <$200 sound bars with built in subs that's I've heard. I have a 1080 from.. years ago. And use it routinely. Bass has never been a complaint. We've got the Hisense and Visio bars with built in subs - both are good but just a step down.

Also a note for everyone - download the Yamaha app so you can really tweak the settings. Significant difference.

I got this for $50 earlier this year. I don't think you can touch anything half as good at this price point. If you're an audiophile, idk why you're even looking at this thread. If you want dts, Alexa, and a serviceable sound bar for dirt cheap, this is the one.

The 3 year Allstate Warranty is only $3.34 . Might as well get it considering hundreds of these 'refurbs" exist for a reason.
