Do you have any basic DIY skills? To give you a quick rundown, you would place the ikea desk surface upside down on the floor, then set the assembled motorized desk frame (also upside down) onto the surface and get it perfectly centered, drill pilot holes into the desk surface, being especially careful not to accidentally drill too deep into the surface (don't want to come out the other side and end up with a hole on the top surface), then attach the frame to the desk using screws (also being sure to not use screws that are longer than the thickness of the desk surface… as a general guideline I'd say screws that are between 1/2 to 3/4 the thickness of the desk surface.)

Appears to be a decent frame with a minimum expansion width of 43" up to 59.5" (best suitable for ~48" minimum width top in theory). The dual motors are integrated into the frame which is a huge plus because they won't limit the possibility for under mounting slide-out keyboard trays or drawer.

The leg's depth(not height) is only 23", my 30" depth desk's leg's depth is 25".

I have a different base but I built a big desk top about 32x70 out of 3/4" MDF, used contact cement to attach melamine sheet ordered from HD. Used a trim off bit to cut melamine to size and framed it out with oak. Melamine makes a fantastic surface for writing with pencil or pen, as well as a fantastic mousing surface without a pad.

Personally have and love this if you want something beautiful [homedepot.com]..top if off with some lineseed oil [mychemicalfreehouse.net] and 0000 steel wood pads [homedepot.com] if you want a shine, or if you want to really protect the top from water spots and just general usage, consider a poly coat [homedepot.com] or water-base version [homedepot.com])

Thanks for the detail. I will try it. I assume I have to buy the screws separately from Home Depot, is that right? If so, what kind/type of screw should I buy(I understood the length of the screw, but not sure about the type for best fit).
