I've owned this one and the bissell version and the bissell is much better. $100 at Sams Club.

Yep, and it will destroy vinyl planks. Makes you wonder why these things even exist.
This. These things can ruin floors.

I have a steam mop I use on my vinyl planks and literally nothing bad happens.

PROTIP: Clean your floor with them. Don't leave it sitting in the same spot for 15 minutes and then complain on slickdeals.

FYI the problem with this design is you will never get corners clean. It's a circular cleaning mop trying to clean a 90 degree angle. Unless all your rooms are circles this may annoy you.

I've had this unit for 4-5 months now. For an average sized aquare room this will cover over 99% of the floor area. My biggest gripe is that it sort of just spreads the gunk around, would be bedt to chase it with a swiffer, or get lots of the aftermarket pads and just use a few sets when u clean. No problems using only ro water so far. Vinyl planks should be Impervious to moisture by definition.

These last about a year, too... I gave up after 2 died just about a little over a year after purchasing. I thought the first was a fluke, but the second one doing it means they're not built to last. If they were cheaper, it's one thing, but these are over 100$.

We use ours on finished hardwood floors and does a great job. Used to have a basic steam push mop that worked but was a lot of work to use. Big thing is to make sure floor is clean/vacuumed before using. We also have used it on tile floors and water resistant vinyl floors with no issues. We have a family friend that is a floor installer and he said not to use any type of steam cleaner on most laminate flooring or anything that water or heat can harm. This cleaner is a great upgrade to the traditional steam mop. Yes it cant get into tight spaces or corners. It works best for high traffic areas, which is where most of the dirty parts of our floors.

I did get mine on the Woot factory refurbished sale for $60, hoping I get at least a year out of it.

Why do companies make round shape cleaning surface? How hard is it to make it such that it reaches the corners? All this sort of design does is yo push dirt to the periphery of a room. They could have simply made stiff yet pliable square shape mop heads and they could still move as intended when attached on the same base. But atleast they could reach the edges and corners.
Like the old cheap sponge mops!
A wet swifter might work for you.

You're so close...why do they make orbital sanders if square sanders exist?
I think the better question is how does a orbital sander work and how does a square one work.

Answer: One spins and the other vibrates.

Then how would you make a square vibrating mop.

So all steam mops will ruin all types of floors? What's recommended for vinyl plank?

What's the difference between this model and the S8201? they seem to be the same price if this one wasn't on sale, google says this one the head doesn't swivel and there is no light however watching review videos it has both.

there is no videos or anything comparing specifically the S8001 vs the S8201

I debated on the Bissel vs. the Shark and ended up getting the Shark. Why is the Bissel better? Am I going to regret my purchase?
the motor on the shark is loud and cheap. The shark mop head is also not as heavy as the bissell, so you don't get as much friction. The bissell is easier to use and cleans more effectively. Try both and return the one you dont like.
