That's because anyone can make an account and do and say whatever they want, which is why you need to do your own research and not have full trust in slickdeals. So teach us what the rabbit hole taught you about this particular mini PC, Vic? I'm interested...
Was really hard to find a model that had everything I considered important. Although my use case requires less power (i.e. a N150 would be plenty), I wanted something that would last me longer and this one seems to tick all the boxes (dual SSD support, i7, thunderbolt port, 2x2.5gb lan).My plan was to do a Plex/Jellyfin server, but I might expand it to do more now
Saw a couple of reddit posts about malware on this brand. I plan to do a fresh windows install
Meh. That's a hard pass from me, then. It could be in the firmware, for all we know.
Once a vendor signals their willingness to put malware in their devices, I consider that a hostile relationship with the customer, and I don't feel like that's worth the tradeoff in price. I would probably throw Linux on it anyway.
