Saw a bunch of these for $70. This is clearance at a Walmart B&M so YMMV. Did a quick listen and sounded good to me. Not sure if this is better than a comparable JBL or Bose but can't beat this price for a BT speaker of this size. Specs are:
  • Bluetooth Connectivity: Enhanced Bluetooth connectivity streams and controls your music wirelessly up to 100ft.
  • Powerful Sound: Features an 8-inch woofer and three 3-inch tweeters for life-like, wide-range sound.
  • FM Radio: Includes FM radio with APP-sync presets, easily set from the ION Sound Control App.
  • Long Battery Life: Rechargeable battery provides up to 35 hours of continuous playtime.
  • Portable Design: Easy grab handle for maximum portability, take the speaker anywhere.
  • Exciting Lighting: Multi-colored LED lighting effects enhance the party atmosphere.
  • Customizable Settings: Use the ION Sound Control app to adjust audio settings and lighting functions.
  • Aux Input: Includes an aux input for playing music from non-Bluetooth devices like cassettes, CDs, or turntables.

Your better off just buying the 'gameday' ION box that is on Slickdeals for $50 - the specs are exactly the same and source your own microphone (which the Gameday model also supports)

This is so so wrong. The Game Day Primetime you're referencing for $50 is only a 60W system with a 5.25" woofer and a 2" tweeter (2 speakers total). This Party Boom Plus is a 120W system with an 8" woofer and three 3" tweeters (4 speakers total). Double the power, better sonic separation with more speakers and larger at that, and includes the AUX input which the other one doesn't. For $20 more, this Party Boom Plus if you can find it, is a WAY better deal than the one you're talking about. Please do your research before posting because you're spreading misinformation.

Walmart is actually incorrect. Here's a direct link from ION [facebook.com]

Are we sure they're not counting 2 of them as 120 watts total? that would track with what dom1n1cg said on 60w - and in that image they're showing two of them connecting together. I'm trying to figure out how loud this is and noticing that there's like no real indication of how loud a lot of these off brand speakers are. Also it may be technically accurate as far as power usage but kinda misleading to call 2 60w speakers a 120w system; it's just 2 60w speakers - that's nothing compared to the volume that one 120w speaker would have.

I never got the impression that they were advertising a pair of the party boom pluses to make it 120W in that FB post. It's 120W for just one boom, and you have the ability to pair with another boom like pretty much any other BT speaker these days.

Here is another link to their YT video [youtube.com]. In the video they're just advertising only one boom. If you read the description in the said YT video [youtube.com], it also states its 120W.

This thing is odd. I might have to pick it up.

The graphics actually show two 4" full range side drives, two front tweeters, and the 8" (sub)woofer.... so five drivers total. I'm not sure where they are getting three tweeters unless the sub is coaxial which would be weird. Confusing.

Where are you seeing those specs? This is a 60W system with a 2.75" larger woofer (but really 2") but still driven by the same 60W. The other one has input for microphones also as well as the same BT capabilities. And, more importantly - the other one is still available at $50 while this one is not

Bruh, I really believe you're trolling here. Link to the product on Walmart's web site shows the specs. Google the product name "Ion Party Boom Plus" will give you the specs-- and it's a totally different speaker than the one you keep alluding to. I know you bought that other one already and feel bad that this one is so so much better.

I went back to Walmart and took a few pics of this since it is still on display. I added these pics to this thread so take a look. One of the pics is a closeup of the specs that indeed says 120W as well as the other features already described.

BTW I did listen to it-- WOW!!!! Loud and deep tight bass. Kinda reminds me of the HK Onyx in size and sound quality. This clobbers any other comparable BT speaker in the $70 price range for sure.

I went and looked, too, but it's not on clearance. It has one front tweeter, two side "full range" and the 8" woofer with two ports (I think). The display was broke. Wish I could have listened.

I picked up the onn Large Party Speaker Gen 2. It's a solid 7 and fully worth the $114, but I really want two units of the ION or similar size for pairing in stereo with an option for EQ.

My Walmart usually clearances their products a bit earlier than most other Walmarts so for me it's a good heads up as to what to expect from other Walmarts when (or if) they clearance. So your Walmart most likely hasn't gotten the clearance go ahead yet. If I were you, just check it from time to time when you do go to your Walmart and maybe they will clearance it down like mine in a few weeks or so.

I did buy the 50 dollar gameday ION speaker and I like it.

ION has a webpage and gives correct specs.
