Better deal than the recent woot post and it's from Home Depot. Now is it worth it since these aren't the Fuel versions? For most probably yes

Ah, thats a little deceptive for the description to call this a "brushless" kit when the Hackzall is brushed. Only the M12 Fuel Hackzall is brushless, unless Milwaukee hides it on their site.

Yeah, they're using some real creative wording on this set. I think the drill and impact are brushless, and the hackzall and multitool are brushed. Dewalt has been doing the same thing on their "brushless" combos, sneaking in brushed tools without mentioning it.

Multi-tools are great for cutting various materials in tight quarters, especially when you need to be sure not to damage nearby materials and making cuts in-plane. A good example is undercutting door jambs for laying hardwood or floating (LVP/engineered wood) flooring.

That said, they're pretty great for cutting drywall or plunge-cutting plywood, and even detail sanding.

Can anyone vouch for what is the good M12 drill? I find myself using my m12 installation drill\driver more often than my M18 for around the house stuff, and its rare I have bumped into much that it gives me problems with it. While I love the installation driver, i was thinking of picking up the real drill version of it.
Just curious if i go to the subcompact one of it, if there are any substantial tradeoffs in power on M12 3 or 4ah batteries, and if that entertaining the hammer drill version is pointless. I'd still have my M18 if i needed to go into real masonry or whatever.

For "around the house stuff", all of the m12 options are more than sufficient. I've been regularly using the original m12 drill / driver for 15+ years and it's still good as new. (I wish I could say the same for the original batteries -- they had serious problems, and lawsuits were flying.)

My only advice for the around-the-house stuff is to stick with the quick change bits, instead of the drill chuck.
