I have seen both the Costco and Sam's Club Black Friday/Cyber Monday ads so far, and it seems to me that the "deals" this year, are just what the normal prices of the items would be without the tariffs. Like, the PS5 deals out there are just bringing it down to the price that it was before Sony raised the prices. I also think that making Black Friday the whole month long has really diluted the quality of the sales. There is no need for door busters when everybody shops online.

To be fair, last few years of 'black Friday' haven't been anywhere near spectacular.

This 98 inch TCL QLED Google TV stands out for its huge screen, 144 hertz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, and the bundled free large TV mounting service. The Walmart listing is tied to the TCL 98Q651G model, and the TV can be used offline by selecting HDMI without connecting to the internet. The main concerns are that this is the 2024 non mini LED version, the install is handled through Angi, and some orders or shipping options have been unavailable or canceled. It looks like a strong value if you want a giant screen and can handle the logistics.

  • The TV can be used as a basic HDMI display without requiring an internet connection.

    McPhreaky1990Chevyguy85

  • The deal includes free wall mounting through Angi, which can reduce setup effort for a 98-inch TV.

    iconianDmytro_B

  • Google TV supports sideloading custom launchers, which can help reduce the cluttered interface experience.

    greymoosegreymoose

  • The Walmart version is described as including free installation, which can be a deciding factor for a very heavy TV.

    TalentedSofa5976Ransu

  • The free installation claim can be confusing because installation may not appear as an addable cart option.

    Thankyouforthehelpiconian

  • The TV deal can be unavailable for shipping and local stores may be out of stock.

    Chingu808

  • Walmart reviews reportedly indicate many units arrive with broken screens and customer service can be difficult.

    sidb1

  • Checkout can fail because an instant cancellation email can arrive after payment is submitted.

Can't wait to see the stories from people who buy this for their apartment, only to realize the TV won't even fit in their house because they can't get it around the corner.

Are TVs coming with ATSC 3.0 tuners these days, and why doesn't the spec sheet say what tuner it has considering this is being advertised as a TELEVISION and not a monitor?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have bought tires from Walmart on a previous Black Friday deal. I will happily pay more to purchase tires from another seller after that experience. The customer support at Walmart stores tire departments is horrendous. No one knows anything about the deals and the included mounting and balancing. I had to argue and argue to get the deal that was posted in their ad, even with my online receipt that showed the information.
