Ryobi P747 I've been using this one regularly for several years with Zero issues. Too bad they quit making it. Have tried the 2 that replaced it and had problems

This would be the model to get. It has the high volume for inflatables and high pressure for tires.
Oh the other doesn't do well for tires?
I didn't want something large.

I fill the board as far as it will go on the volume side of the pump and then switch it to the high pressure... It takes a while to fill. I've been considering getting a dedicated iSUP pump
So use the volume side to get it to like 10psi, then the high pressure adapter to get it to 12psi? How many boards can you fill with a 4Ah battery? I'm not as concerned about deflating since it's rather easy to do manually.

Do you think dedicated iSUP pumps (seems like higher quality ones are around $100) will do an overall better job than this Ryobi?

Great price for a so-so pump. Mine stopped registering the psi recently
Try holding the + and - button for 5 seconds, or the Power and Start button for 5 seconds. I have to do that on mine occasionally, but mine is the older version of this.

I bought the Dewalt one for $100 last time it came up on SlickDeals and it broke the first time I used it. Let's give this one a shot and see how long it lasts.

This can be used to fill high volume e.g. air mattress. The other one cannot. If you need such function, yes it is worth extra $15.
my separate (china generic usb) mattress pump recently died, so I guess I'm getting this instead. Thanks for the deets.

Keep in mind that there are 3 types of inflators:

1. high pressure/low volume (that is the one on sale for $25 on the other SD)- for tires and sportsballs. Some (not that one) also can act as a small surface cleaner, such as to blow sawdust off your workbench
2. low pressure/high volume - for inflatable toys and mattresses
3. dual function (this one) - does the function of both above + acts as a small surface cleaner

See image below.

I just picked up the Ridgid tire inflator it was $79 but I paid $100 and it included the battery. Just tried it and it was fast and had auto shut off

You won't get to 10 PSI on the volume side, but otherwise yep you got the idea. Not sure about how many boards sorry...

A dedicated iSUP pump would definitely do a better job. The Ryobi with the adapters can get the job done plus you can use it for its other functions like filling tires, but it won't be quick on the iSUP filling.

I wouldn't buy this Ryobi if its strictly for the iSUPs - I'd go for dedicated iSUP pump. Especially if you need to inflate the board with every use - I'm able to leave my iSUPs inflated most of the time and only deflating/reinflating if I travel somewhere.

I have the older version of this and it still works. The only real issue is the plastic tube is cracking.

  • Up to 160 PSI: Ideal for high pressure applications from filling tires to sports balls

You know, I've never needed 160 PSI from an inflator like this. I wish this inflators would trade some PSI for CFM. I want to fill my tires faster, not make them explode.

It's not uncommon for some road bicycle tires to need well over 100 psi and higher for race tires. It's a product designed & manufactured to cover a range of uses.
My recommendation if you want higher flow, look into higher quality pumps from a company like Viair. I've also gotten a high flow dual cylinder pump from Amazon (odd name brand) but its quality is a little questionable.

I have had this model you reference for like 5+ years. Dependable until last night, actually, when the motor started smoking. This deal comes at a fantastic time!
