I grabbed a leap last sale and it came with a snapped back piece (wasn't damaged in site picture). Sent a message to support with a picture and they sent another out within a day or two. Happy with the replacement and customer service.

The one you are looking at is a remanufactured chair by them. The ones in the post are chairs returned to the manufacturer which are then being sold by Crandall

Check facebook for better local deals on chairs. Granted won't be refurbished, but you can find basically new.

Lots of offices are shutting down.

Unless you live in Mayberry there's usually an office supplier that carries Steelcase and Herman Miller Knoll in most cities. Got to put that Google to work.
I've used series 1, leap v2 and a gesture. For the money especially these sales prices the series 1 is one of the best chairs for the money imo. The gesture is the best if budget is no concern.

Just make sure the chair appendix is installed! In a lot of cases the chairs are coming into the factory with the appendix installed but then someone is taking it out! I think we all know why...

After waffling for a couple of days I ended up buying a leather gesture with a headrest (the exact chair in attached pics). After discount and coupon it was a bit under $1300, which looks to be about 40% or MSRP with the same options. I ordered last Wednesday night and it will be here tomorrow (hopefully), so shipping speed isn't bad for a huge 80lb box (I wonder how much shipping costs them, even with a volume business shipping discount I imagine it is not an insignificant part of the price? Then including the risk of paying return shipping within 14 days too, ouch).

I have been using an HM Logitech Embody gaming or whatever since 2020(bought from HM direct on a slickdeal for like 1200?), and it has been a great chair for the 10-12 hrs a day I am in it... much better than the gaming and cheap office chairs it replaced. There are some bits wearing out (the arm pads are cracking, it has a bunch of hard core squeeks, the gas cylinder is leaking, etc.). I am going to go through warranty and/or repair it myself, but there are also some design issues that the gesture looks to address, including no hard plastic adjusters on the front sides of the chair(those drive me CRAZY), way more adjustable arms, and I have always loved leather for my chairs, but HM doesn't have that option.

I will post again once I have received it with condition, brief comparison with embody, etc. but from what I have read Crandall is a good company, so not concerned with that at least.

The chair clearly sat in storage for a long time, the rubber bands on it were completely dry rotted but it was a brand new chair
