If anyone else is looking for it, I found shortyman24's instructions quoted here: https://slickdeals.net/f/18686347-metro-by-t-mobile-256gb-motorola-razr-2024-5g-gray-30-days-60-prepaid-plan-65-free-shipping?p=1797
And here is the software to unlock it if you're lucky and get an older android version: https://xdaforums.com/t/how-unloc...t-90088027
But it seems like they're mostly sending on ones that are on android 15 now.

The Razr 2024 deal is mainly attractive as a cheap way to get a foldable phone and, for some units, a path to Metro or T Mobile unlock. The phone includes a preinstalled screen protector, ships without a signature requirement, and can be activated with eSIM or a physical SIM. The biggest draw is the low first month price, with extra lines sometimes dropping to $30 or $35. The main catch is unlock uncertainty, since success appears tied to Android 14 and older security patches, while Android 15 or later updates often trigger server errors or a 180 day lock message. Screen durability and fold damage also remain a concern, making it a tempting but risky pickup.
Common Questions (6)
Some Android 14 units on older builds can be unlocked with the XDA/Moto unlock method, especially Nov 2024 builds and some Jan 2025 builds. Android 15 and later security updates commonly trigger SERVER_NOT_REACHABLE or 180-day messages, and March 2025 updates are repeatedly flagged as a cutoff.
The first phone is full price, and additional lines can drop to $35 or similar discounted pricing after the first activation. The deal appears to top out around three phones for many accounts, and the discounted add-a-line option may disappear on a fourth order.
The current Metro unlock requirement is one full year from activation, not one month. The phone can still be used on Metro after activation, but permanent network unlock is tied to the 365-day rule unless a software unlock method works on an eligible build.
A locked Metro razr generally will not work with a T-Mobile SIM before unlock; it stays Metro-only until it is permanently unlocked. After a successful permanent unlock, it can be used with T-Mobile service and other carriers.
Activation can be started from the shipping email link or the Metro order-status page using the order number, and the site will show the phone number. If the verification PIN does not arrive, sending a text from the new phone first can make the code deliver; some activations also require a store visit when PIN verification fails.
Some units arrive without a physical SIM and are set up with eSIM instead. The phone also ships with a pre-installed screen protector, and removing it or replacing it can void the warranty.

In addition, the Metro app on my first phone kept crushing as long as it's logged in. Is anyone having the same issue?
I bought a second Razr for $35 but I cannot activate the second line since I don't know the new phone number. I don't remember how I got the phone number from the first line.

You were able to get one ?
I've been trying since last night when it went OOS and havent been able to get one. The page is deceptive.
If after activating and registering your new account for the RAZR you login on the website and move the lines service to another phone then the RAZR will be free to use immediately after on an existing metro account
The link directly from the "Ready. Set. Activate!" email didn't work for activation for me because it wants the phone number and the email just had the order number, but if you go to https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/order-status you can activate from the order number that was in that email. It will also tell you your phone number.
However, I wasn't able to actually log in because it sent a 2FA code to the phone. (The email they sent to verify my email address said "Once verified, this email can be used to authenticate and access your account" but when I actually tried to log in it didn't offer to send the 2FA code via email.)
Not that it really matters for me since my phone is apparently going to arrive tomorrow.
