Edit: just verified it but here's the reddit post I saw on r/SonyAlpha about it.

I think the actual retail price is $2898, not $2198, giving it a 41% discount. Also, the image and the description both are different items. Here's a screenshot of the "Items Included" section

Do you get a lot of dust spots in the image?
This depends if you activate the the feature for the shutter to close off every time you take of the lens. You will still get sensor dust over time even doing this, but it is way less than a fully exposed mirrorless camera without that feature.

Multiple photo editing products now include an dust removal "automatically" button too.

How good of a deal is this? I had a Fuji xt1 I sold a few years ago and have been wanting another camera. This is admittedly way more camera than I need, but not necessarily out of my budget.
The lens it comes with is a throw away. But the camera itself I'd argue you would never "need" to upgrade again for the rest of your life if it lasts that long.

Autofocus is fantastic with eye tracking. Does both photo and video well. Resolution can make 24x36 prints all day long with a good lens.

One of the greatest all around cameras ever made. Resolution is a great balance between file size and quality needed for professional level work for a variety of formats.

This is a great price and won't get much less than this for a while even though the "V" will likely drop soon. This camera as consistently been $2500 for the body alone - with a few hundred off during occasional sales.

There has been a widespread price reduction to about $2,198, generally promoted as a temporary one. Many people are speculating this has something to do with the rumored announcement of its successor, the Sony A7V, in the near future.
I will wait for it. Thanks

The A7V, if it truly is coming soon, might be worth waiting for, but it will likely have a significantly higher price tag. There has been a lot of speculation about the features and specifications it will have. The A7IV is a good camera, but one criticism many have of its sensor is its relatively slow readout speed, resulting in a higher level of the "rolling shutter" effect when recording video. This effect is not necessarily a problem if you are recording an ordinary situation, but it might be more noticeable and bothersome if high speed action is being recorded, especially if the camera is moved rapidly. There are many people who believe that the A7V will utilize the same sensor as the A7IV, but outside of Sony, no one seems to really know. In fact, there isn't even much certainty that the A7V will be announced as predicted before the end of 2025, with availability in Q1 of 2026. No one seems to know the pricing, either, but predictions for the A7V are for somewhere around $3,000. If considering the A7IV, I would suggest watching quality reviews of it on YouTube, including the one by reviewer Gerald Undone, since he discusses the rolling shutter issue specifically.

Do you have this lens? If so, how about a link to some of your photos? I'm looking for images from actual users as I've been researching this combo. I have seen plenty of beautiful photos from the 28-70 lens btw and this review is solid: http://www.thephoblographer.com/2...e_vignette

Yeah, first time diving into Unidays and it's a mess. Changing flow/verification requirements with no apparent logic.

B&H should just use id.me like many other places. This balkanization of verification services is idiotic.
