fwiw S11 is mostly identical to S10

the only differences are really 3 things: S11 cellular gets 5G, aluminum S11 watches get a ceramic coated Ion-X glass that's supposed to be twice as scratch resistant as the untreated Ion-X glass on aluminum S10 models, and lastly the battery life on a single charge "improved" (in part because battery capacity got a decent 10% increase, but also because Apple fudged and tweaked the way they test battery runtime by reducing frequency of time checks and active screen time. you can check this for yourself by comparing the battery testing methodology in the footnotes on the compare page with S11 and S10 pulled up side-by-side)

or you can just check this post here:https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/s/QOsIm1YrRc

the point is, don't expect a significant jump in battery life between S10 and S11

imo this is just an ok deal for cellular and there's a chance there might be something better when bf / cyber monday roll around, but who knows

Series 11 also uses the same S10 SiP as Series 10

personally, I got an S10 during Target's one day sale about a month ago and am very happy with it after checking out Series 11 in an Apple Store and seeing effectively 0 tangible differences

tldr; S11 and S10 are basically identical

I ordered and then cancelled because I realized that this is 1 generation old. Series 11 has new dark silver color and has 24 hours of battery vs 18.

Is there a significant difference between this and the SE2 cellular? I don't use the workout functions at all. I'd be moving from a 5 cellular.

It's not cheaper than the current price; it's the same as the original price on the website.

Genuinely asking - how do you guys who own smart watches justify them? Most of the benefits I see aren't really huge benefits in my eyes... besides maybe Apple Pay. I guess if you have a heart condition, the beats per minute are helpful to watch... but anything else? I dunno. It just doesn't seem like it's there yet to me but maybe I'm missing something.

I am still using ancient series 3 Apple Watch from 6+ years ago. The battery still runs strong. The justification for me is that my employer has medical premium benefit if I record exercise time every month and satisfy some requirements. It saves me $2k+ per year on my medical premium, so well worth the money.

I guess you are not into sports at all. To me non smart watches have no value at all. Who uses watch to check tha time now when most people faces are constantly in their phones. The only reason to have non-smart watch a good jewelry grade luxury watches for the people that love jewelry and collectors.

Apple Health software and algorithms may eventually save your life - the watch is essentially an always on health monitor and can find cardio problems. This is probably number one reason to get particularly Apple - nobody is even close to the health data that Apple uses.

Besides that, it is convenient for getting notifications.
