I live somewhere that gets plenty of snow and can clear my walkways, small driveway pad, and sidewalk for our block without swapping batteries. We did get one late storm that brought a lot of heavy, wet snow, and I had to swap batteries and push pretty hard to clear the block for that one. I already owned other FlexVolt batteries so I don't consider that a problem but others might.
Check with your local utilities, they may have a rebate for electric snow blowers. Mine gave me $100 back.
Seems Ryobi and Ego both have a 2-stage battery blower (40v and 56v respectively). I wonder if this will be the next generation for Dewalt. Perhaps this would alleviate some of the bogging down toolguy mentions.
Also the HomeDepot site review section is littered with reviews mentioning an issue with a drive belt breaking.

Highlights
I live in MT and usually have maybe 10 six to 12 inch snows a year along with three to five multi-footer snows. I've been using my old Cub Cadet gas and it does a fantastic job, but I hate the logistics of it. It usually takes a good 15 minutes or more to get going and on the small snows it's a pain. Then I saw some guys at a motel in W. Yellowstone using an electric single stage snowblower and they absolutely swore by it for the daily maintenance of three to five inches. They had a big gas multistage for the big stuff.
I used it like 10 times last year and all I do is grab a couple 12AH batts from the chargers in the basement plug em in and it usually will do about three snows on the driveway. And it does a great job for my purposes. I am lucky I have mostly powder snow up here in MT and once I had to use it on wettish snow and it did not like it nearly as much as the usual. So, the nasty east of the MIssissippi stuff might make it complain, but it will still do it just not throw slush quite as far... I grew up back there so know the difference.
I noticed that the real deal on these is to get the batteries/chargers with it not tool only. They give you the middle of the road 6AH or 8AH chargers so not the 115 charger trash but I also have a couple of the air cooled yellow ones so they charge fast. I have many FlexVolt tools and love them.
