With Black Friday on the horizon I would avoid getting any rise at 5 anything and look to 7 and 9 series cards. The 850 board can already take a Ryzen 9 might as well

if you're primarily gaming the 7 and 9 are a waste.... just an FYI the 9600X is plenty capable and in the majority of cases all that is needed for gaming. I have a 9700X and a 9600X and 9950X3D and the X3D is the only one that I notice an uptick in any performance and only in games (due to the added L3 Cache). More cores does not equal faster at all. Just depends on what your doing with it. My . 02c as a 25+ Year PC builder. Thanks 🙏🏼

For me personally this combo is barely worth it even at a flat $300 so yeah I agree with you it's not slick. The 9600x was regularly going for 150 on prime day.
