"New in Box" authenticity
⚠️Could mean "resealed OEM open box."
Warranty coverage
⚠️Likely store warranty, not AppleCare-eligible.
Price realism 🔴 ~50 % below market for a 2025 Mac - highly suspicious if truly new.

Just use a credit card for extended warranty.

Credit card's extended warranty usually depends on the item having an original manufacturer's warranty to begin with.

Not with Citi Strata. I believe it says original manufacture or store warranty. Also buying directly has longer warranty.

Just FYI I got similar deal with excellent refurbished couple weeks ago from eBay different seller. I was confident that I am able to get Applecare One since the device is newer than 4 years old. I was wrong the purchase date show 1978 after try calling applecare couple time they said they need original receipt from original purchase so they can't do it. I still like the device though.

Slickdeals was once a reliable place to find a reputable MacBook deal, no longer

In the last three months or less the only deal that are posted are refurbished laptops from third parties, random eBay laptops like this one, or 2-3 generation old reconditioned Macbooks

Who the fark would spend 2k on a used laptop from a random store with no reputation and no warranty? That's literally the definition of a StupidDeal not a SlickDeal
