Yeah, they're legit. I've ordered many items from them over the years, and while returns are handled via text message, I've had no problems returning items.

Not sapphire compared to previous Recovery for Athletes deal.
Cons:
  • Heavier by about 9g due to stainless steel on non-sapphire models vs titanium on sapphire. 51mm Garmins are very heavy watches so any weight savings is very important.
  • Mineral/Gorilla glass is less scratch resistant than sapphire.
Pros:
  • Glass is less reflective than sapphire and may look more clear and better viewing angles
  • This deal is actually available now whereas the Recovery deal has been dead and hasn't come back

I've had three Fenix watches (3HR, 5x plus, and currently 7x). All were the Sapphire version and I never managed to scratch or scuff the crystal. The bezels took a good beating, but never the crystals. It was important to me that the face of the watch not be marred by a scratched crystal.

For my money, Sapphire's the way to go.

This seems like a good price for the pro, and the regular sized 7 never goes on sale. What are the chances they would accept a return for this if I put it on my wrist and thought it was just too big? Assuming I didn't really wear it or even turn it on, of course. Just open the box. The policy says they will accept returns for "unused" items within 30 days of purchase, but electronics are weird when it comes returns at some stores.

I texted them early this morning, but haven't heard back yet.
