I tried researching this when I bought mine, and I decided to keep mine in the house.
What I have come to believe (which may not be 100% accurate, I'm not a battery expert) is that high temps degrade the life of the battery and there is a non-zero chance of fire for extreme high temperatures, while extreme cold reduce the batteries effectiveness if it is needed to provide a jumpstart, even if it is fully charged.
Yes, keeping it in the house means it will not be available all of the time. However, I can assume with greater confidence it will work when it is available, and will be safer to operate. I can also take it on trips or longer car drives if needed, temporarily.
