I'm going to assume this is an extreme your mileage may vary deal but I walked into my local Lowe's in Kingsport Tennessee while doing some yellow sticker hunting and ran across the table just like the Kobalt sale recently of individual sockets wrenches or incredible prices this store was pretty this store was pretty well stocked

The Lowes near me did this as well, though about 6 months ago. Worth taking a look next time anyone is going to Lowe's, but definitely wouldn't make a special trip, IMO.

I think that was for kobalt though, right?

I saw it in zip 30008. Same prices as when the same items from the Kobalt line were clearanced a couple of months ago. Though limited, I I am still seeing some of the Kobalt items.

My local Lowes also had theses discounted. I picked 2 up but they did not ring up at .99 for the chrome ones but I showed the head cashier the sign and they discounted it

Theyre dumping single sockets/items. No $$$ in keeping inventory, shelf space, deal with theft, etc. Probably bundle as small sets like kobalt. Plus, more difficult to warranty single items doubt theyll open up the pack like hft does. $3 a deep socket is worth if need it but do the math its cheaper get set from hft with discounts.

Just go and visit. Sometimes you'll find steals in the clearance bin. I found four Shockforce tape measures for $0.02 couple of days ago

Confirmed for a few 1/2-inch drive sockets in San Diego (not the 10's 😉). Store guy said people were finding $5 box wrenches.
I didn't look at the 3/8" drive ones since I'm chock full of Kobalts
