Fwiw it's bat day on slugger.com and DeMarini.com my daughter plays softball so I don't know anything about the baseball bats but they have a bunch for 50% off. The softball bats that are on sale are a great deal, I got her a kyro for $230 they usually go for $450. Might be worth checking out the baseball stuff if you're in the market

Is this a yearly thing where they just dump bats at 50 off? What's the catch? (I.e. why wouldn't you just always but then under normal circumstances? )

No catch, they're new bats with the regular warranty etc. its basically just to clear out last years inventory. The 2026 bats are out and a lot of kids want the latest style or color variant and a lot of parents will buy them. I'm not one of those parents haha.

Honest question, to what extent is bat tech actually improving year over year? I was under the impression bats are heavily "regulated" now?

No clue, but my daughter is currently swinging a 2019 demarini I bought used on fb marketplace last year for $100 and it's been fine for her, but she's grown and needs a longer bat so I figured at this price I'd jump on a new one for her that she can use for a few years

You seem to be knowledgeable in bats. My 12 yo daughter's been begging for a composite bat for softball. Any suggestions from this sale? Her team was 12u this season but will likely play in 13u or even 14u in the spring.

My daughter just aged up from playing 12u rec to 14u travel (her team is all 13 yo) The kyro is the bat to get on this deal imo, it's the most versatile and it's super well regarded. The girls will want a ghost with a color variant or whatever but the kyro is just as good if not better, it's just not as pretty. Get a 32 drop 11 and have her break it properly. It'll last her
