Unless your hanging a few light things don't do it. It's plastic and as soon as you load it, it bends over. There is no other support and the plastic won't hold. After mine kept falling over it found it's way to the landfill.

Unless your hanging a few light things don't do it. It's plastic and as soon as you load it, it bends over. There is no other support and the plastic won't hold. After mine kept falling over it found it's way to the landfill.

We use this for wet heavy clothing, for decades
Hold it from the middle of vertical pole while moving. Problem solved.

Bought this years ago for $15. You have to weigh it down on the bottom to avoid tipping it over. We used bags of pet food or rice, sometimes gallon jugs.

I have a very similar one that I pull out for winter parties. I put it on the first landing of the staircase so guests can hang their coats. Sure beats piling coats on a bed.

These do not hold much weight at all. I bought several to clean out closets, and when full of clothes, they bend and fall over. They would probably be fine for a few things but you can't fill them. It also helps if you do not extend them to the highest level. Dropping them down about half way makes them a little more stable.

Interesting, I just had one identical to this fall apart. I didn't realize that they were this cheap but that explains a lot. I nearly spent as much to reinforce it and put it back together as it costs initially.
It's an ok rack for what it is. It seemed to handle the weight I put on it fine.. at least when set at a lower height. Where it failed on me was putting too many items between the two posts, there's nothing to prevent the bars from popping out of the plastic bracket. Should be fine if you don't stuff it with clothes but if you do, you'll want to have a rope or something between the two posts to keep tension pulling the two sides together; my fix was a 1-1/4" pipe hanging bracket and a threaded rod between them to make it more stable.
