I wonder if they are going to announce a new version and they are clearing these out....I hope they do. I've had a lot of issues with these have "tamper alert" warnings (that set the alarm off) when they haven't been touched in months.
That's what I'm wondering too. I'm not sure what a "newer" version could introduce as a feature but these seem to do the job fine, especially at $16

This thing saved my bacon when my sump pump failed while I was out of town. If you have ring protect, I highly recommend putting one in your basement. These and the smoke/co2 detectors (not the listeners) are worth every penny.

Searching Ring's website, there are no smoke/CO detectors, only the listener device.

I like it! Are you using your 6 for multiple houses, or are you putting them all over one house? Like behind toilets and under the sinks in the vanities?

Yes. On any ring product. But even better discount if you do buy 3 if you need that many.

Searching amazon for z-wave smoke detector and add that to ring. I have three of the older version of this guy and they haven't given me any issues.

That 40°F setting is not changeable? I cannot set it to 33° for example?
Nope, not settable. Just found that out this morning when they arrived. Very disappointed, 40 is not freezing. Our crawl space can get to 35 in the winter and we aren't really worried about it till then. 40 is the average winter temp down there, making this useless as a freeze alarm. Oh, well. It still works as a leak detector.

I don't understand the design of this. I want to detect water, only. So will this trigger if it is dry 40F?
You can choose to turn off and on either the "freeze" (chilly day 40 only!) or the water independently.

Well I ordered it impulsively without scrutiny, and so I guess I'll just use it as a leak detector as you say. But *what the hell are they thinking?* Who knows. I'm really sorry I got into the Ring system with so much many better alternatives, apparently.

since you've used these and really like them, just want to check with you – there's no way to set the temperature sensor to below 40°, like 32° for example? That seems idiotic to me if true…

I cannot find any threshold setting in my existing freeze/water sensors. It's just a slider to enable 'low temperature detected'. Seems like Ring set a specific temperate value but they don't you what it's set to nor can I find a place to change it, at least in the Ring app.
Crazy, that's a head-scratcher, ffs 🙄
