Keep I'm mind Intel Macs are no longer supported as of September 2025. No more upgrades to OS after macOS 26 Tahoe.

e-waste at this point. Sure it will work, but OS unsupported - even dual booting into windows (which I have on both my Intel Macs) won't work for Win 11 updates moving forward

No physical escape key - I'm out!

PC or Mac, I don't know who came up with the idea for no physical escape key, but they need to be dragged out in the middle of Silicon Valley and tarred and feathered.

Great Linux candidate. Fedora+KDE is smooth and fast on much older hardware than this.

totally worth it to run Open-Core Patcher on this and install the latest MacOS. It will run smoothly. Im actually typing this on a 2016 Macbook that's running Sequoia. My only wish would be that it was at least 256GB.

Absolutely, better to buy a refurbished or gently used M-series MacBook and install a free copy of VMWare Fusion to run Windows 11 ARM.

These should still have replaceable non-soldered SSDs. The non-Touch Bar model with 2 USB-C ports is upgradable.

I've remapped capslock to be the esc key. It's a simple change, no biggie.

For a sub-$200 laptop it's not a terrible deal. Install a newer (but unsupported) MacOS version and get pretty decent functionality. I'd take this over a $200 chromebook any day.
