9800X3D is cheaper and better for only gaming. 9950X3D is better for gaming+productivity. And if not gaming, you don't need an X3D CPU anyway

Bro thinks 9900x3d for the price of a 7800x3d bad because other CPU's exist?

What kinda nonsense math is that? You're considering the CPU in the deal to be the price of a 7800X3D - meaning you're ok paying full price for the otherwise overpriced board in this combo?
I'll bite - since you're actually looking at the 800X3Ds, taking the recent best price (likely to return shortly) of the 9800X3D at $400 (from Microcenter which many price matched with Best Buy) + a reasonable board around $250 in total would cost you $650 and you have a 9800X3D over the 7800X3D you're thinking of, and you've still spent less than the $800 here
So your argument makes no sense

I'd rather get this combo for $480 9900x with MSI X870E-P Pro WiFi AM5

9900x isn't worth the headache. you have to disable ccd for some games and undervolt with pbo. x3d chips are far superior for gaming

9800X3D is cheaper, but in this bundle the 9900X3D is more cheaper. $175 bundle discount, if you assume you pay full price of the motherboard, the 9900X3D is just $300. But yes the 9800X3D is better because it all 8 cores share the same 3D V-Cache while the 9900X3D has two 3D V-Cache with two of their 6 cores sharing one 3D V-Cache each.

Sure for 1080p the cpu is the bottle neck. But I game on a 34" 1440p which makes the gpu the bottle neck. So the cpu isnt as important. Same goes for 4k. So yeah if you are gaming on 1080, then the x3d is worth the money but at higher resolutions... the cpu isn't nearly as important. At that point its waaay more about the gpu.
