I'm no expert, but I've bought this 4lb. bag a number of times when either Amazon or Walmart have it this low, which is not that often. I think it compares favorably to Kroger brands like Royal. I have an unopened one in the basement and just grabbed another here. Love butter chicken etc. in the cold months!

Might have something to do with Basmait aroma/flavor? Also curious, as 'old' basmati seems to lose this, tastes more like regular long grain.

Indian Aged rice is where the rice has been put into the dirty socks of the Indians that harvest it so that it bacteria in their socks ferments the rice.
