Got Samsung S90f 65" with new account sign up with corporate email for 1179 + tax

Also chatted and told them I am worried about longitvity based on last year model's power supply issues so I was offered free 2 year warranty worth $199.

Paid $1258 including tax

I chose delivery date after blackfriday to see if there any better offers as I am not in a rush.

Just wonder if lg c5 65" is better from partner store for 1210 including tax with soundbar / bluetooth speaker / mount vs this as well as 6% cash back from Amex ? I compared the two at Costco but Samsung seems to really have that wow factor?

What do you guys think?

QD-OLED definitely will look more colorful. Though when i looked at costco i liked the c5 more and the lg partner store perks is really tempting though have heard some mixed reviews about partner store.

Partner store is not too bad I had purchased a dish washer in the past from them.. but coming back to tv the only tv which has a wow factor and amazing colors i felt was samsung qd oled even at the cost of Dolby vision... I am still confused i can get lg c5 for similar price and extras I don't need but the warranty is more useful which I got from samsung. Every review I watched they praise qd oled so i am guessing sticking to samsung may be better

Just wouldn't buy Samsung TVs unless you're handy. They have great panels but cheap internal components and servicing will cost you as much as a new TV unless you can do it yourself (eg replacing a power board). Deliberate design flaw imo.

Would you consider lg to be better in terms of quality or is it a wash?

Nice TV. I have 55 and 77. Much brighter than 90d from last year on SDR.

My recent experience with Samsung (65" s90 and 49" Neo G9) has been that the screens are amazing and the picture is great, but the devices themselves are so finicky. Never had a TV or monitor be so picky as to their cord type, or if it's even a little loose! They also have kind of annoying access panels. A few other minor recurring annoyances as well, such as trying to use a Samsung TV as a monitor is near impossible...

But for most people those aren't things you'd be messing with more than a few times so it's an acceptable headache for the picture quality.

Doing some research it seems generally oled degradation is a thing if not catastrophic failures. Samsung s90 series since 2022 have much higher rate of failuresbespecially s90d.. LG compared to Samsung is more durable.. Samsung claims in 10000 hours brightness should remain 90% and LG is probably little better in terms of resilience but oled being oled will degrade

I have the s95b and it is still flawless. only reason i'd upgrade is to go from 65 to 77. that said, no consumer electronics product is perfect, nor designed to last 15 years. If it fits your budget and you can wiggle Samsung into tossing in a free extended warranty, that's pretty stellar.
