I was lucky enough to get an open box fair condition one for $490+tax. It was missing all accessories except the two WiFi antennas on the back. The item looks new and works fine. A replacement remote was $9 and I had a spare power cord and calibration microphone.

Another one to consider would be the RZ30 OB for $719(code EXPO10) from EE.

It's much newer, independent sub outs, access to DLBC & doesn't have global crossovers.

RZ30 does 9 channels. LX505 does 11 channels (2 through preouts that require an external amplifier).

I got rid of the LX305 for Onkyo RZ50.... would this be an upgrade or the same? I have Klipsch RP 8060 II (with built in atmos) speakers, x 4 and the super chonky 504 center.

This is probably a slight downgrade as the RZ50 has individual channel cross over.

Good point, if you NEED the extra 2 channels.

Imo thee biggest difference would be having access to Dirac's Bass Control, which this doesn't.
Dirac is the main reason people buy Pioneer & Onkyo after all.

On a side note, were you able to assign the extra two channels(10&11)?

Ado sold NIB for 700-750 during several deals. Likely to repeat.

True, keep in mind a few people reported getting NIB units from EE with OB purchases.

Yep I know this from some other posts but Expo listed it as open box. Maybe its invoice will say it is open box too and may affect warranty/return etc. An alternative but Ado was repeating Integra DX deals then discounted RZ30 for 2-3 times. It is deal time so it is again likely.

Yes they did, it also states it includes"Parts and Labor Manufacturer Warranty."

People confirmed they got full manufacturers warranty.

Both are good options.

I thought the 805 always had individual crossovers.

This is the only model that has(will have) it.

Unfortunately Pioneer got out of AV business so likely this is the last unit.

Thats great for you.. But has no relevance for this deal. Couldve at least given it a review.
