The 72oz looks like the Walmart version atleast I've heard it called. I'm not sure why it's named 72 oz when it only holds 48oz of liquid. But that's my only complaint and I normally sneak 50oz in and can fill a 30 and 35 oz cup once slushed . I bought it earlier this year in store I enjoy it. I was more of a beer drinker but after buying this I prefer slushes. Your standard 80 proof liquors 16 oz of liquor and the rest your mix is a good rule of thumb anything much stronger may not freeze. I've used fresh squeezed juices ( O.J. , watermelon , lemonade etc) I've done soda , ice tea , sports drinks also . I haven't tried the milkshake mode yet but look forward to making them. I do wish it was a bit bigger at times, initially I did not realize there were 2 sizes when I bought this but it don't take long to make a new batch 30-40 mins time.

Do you use it a lot? I bought the creami and didn't really use it much. I think I'd use this a lot more. Is it hard to clean?

I use it often enuf , a couple times a weekend . Cleaning is pretty easy , warm water 2-3 times after use in rinse mode shake the machine a bit to get the top of the container with water the majority of the time. About once a week I take it apart and wash out the container and spinner in the sink with dish soap , wipe down the rest with a warm sponge or rag very simple to take apart 1 handle separates and reattach the container. It is dishwasher safe but not for dryer cycle safe . I choose to wash it by hand. I looked at the creami in store first the employee actually mentioned she had one I asked what she thought and said another dust collector in the cabinet after the first few uses. This i'd say is much more useful . I've owned it since around July 4th I may have used it nearly every weekend since. In September I took it on a weekend vacation in my trunk . You just got to be careful not to tilt it much is recommended in the book or it's got to sit 2 hrs before use if left on its side.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably snag one.

We have both this and the creami. I think the creami's biggest issue is the prep and forethought. With the Slushi, you can just throw in some lemonade or make some margs on a whim pretty easily and they'll be done in 30 min.We have too many ninja gadgets haha. This one is one of our favorite though

The 96oz with the cups is the Costco version. We have and really like it. Wish we could get more of the cups though.

Won't freeze correctly if you use sugar free liquids. I ended up returning for that reason.

yes. there is no practical/easy way to make a slushie without either sugar or oddball additives (glycerol, erythritol, allulose etc). sugar lowers the freezing point (important because alcohol raises it) and ALSO prevents large ice crystal formation.

If you are looking at these to make adult beverages / frozen cocktails / spiked slushies, thicker milkshakes, etc - Do yourself a favor and buy the new Ninja Slushi Max.

The Max is on sale right now for $349 and it can actually make slushes with an alcohol content up to ~20% ABV.

These original models advertise up to 16% ABV, but tests have shown they can't get past ~10 - 11%... which makes really weak alcoholic drinks.
