Honestly, not sure. Been buying cat food for about 20 years and I dont recall the 40 packs ever being $5, or even $10. Not saying this might have been true, but definitely was a long time ago

Cat food prices have gone up SO much it's insane though. My cats' prescription food has doubked in price in less than 5 years 😭

Far as I remember, maybe not $5 a case, but pre-COVID, they were about $10 a case. Just another of the things corporations jacked up in price with COVID as an excuse, and never really brought back to normal.
