EE has this up again and EXPO10 10% discount code takes this down to $899!
Pretty good price for a very good unit!

You use A1EVO with this and you have the 4800 with Dirac Live & Bass Control!
Here is a comparison to see the other differences.

wouldn't touch a refurb 4700 from them, I know them all too well. They're only legit on new & sometimes they will list as refurb to sell new to get around MAP. I have known this company for well over 20 years

OK, maybe I'm missing something here but why is selling a new unit as a refurb(or OB) at a significant discount a bad thing for buyers!!?

Because I highly doubt these 4700's are "new".. Normally, refurbs if they are actually "refurbs" are hit or miss at best. Now, it's an older 4700 which makes me question where did EE get them and are they refurbs, open box, laying around the store etc. you see, EE has a shady past at best. I have bought things from them in there retail stores when they actually had 10+ stores but they basically went bankrupt and have had one store now for prob 15+ years plus I wont even get into the history of the ownership as I know it very well.. Now they sell under there name , glamazon, and some other names. what I am saying is that if you have a problem with them it's going to be a pain to deal with them, unless it's a smoken deal and new, I would not deal with them and that's coming from someone who used to buy tons of things from them when they were some what legit years ago...if this was a 4800 , I would say it might be a new unit where they are posting "refurb" to get around MAP which they do all the time, others have posted on the web, etc they bought an open box and got a new one, etc but on a 4700 I wouldn't take the chance at all since it's a 4700. I would rather buy from them through ebay then there own site as ebay will cover your back with them or other electronic type stores like them, etc with less hassle. If you can get "new" unit from them then you can make out on a good price or a newer "open box" unit that 's actually prob new/sealed, etc.. you know what I mean.. I have seen some great deals from them on amazon/ebay/Audigon(keep an eye on that as they dump a bunch of things on there regularly) on "New" items over the years so of course it's YMMV..
