Yes I kept my motor clear of grass debris after every cut, because I knew of the issue.
It went over two years, but I would not buy it again even at the $99 price.

can't reenforce this enough. I have 2 of these, can't use them in tall grass or tight places because if something wraps around the head you will almost certainly kill the motor. If you kill the motor you have to ship it back to dewalt to repair for 80 bucks. Totally not worth
