Buy into an ecosystem not a single tool. If you only need a single tool look at power and torque and batteries that the kit comes with. I personally have the M12 as I'm in that eco system and it's great for 99% of the stuff the normal home owner will do, plus I have tons of other m12 stuff that's compatible.

Thank you for that insight. I am not in both, and so far, I have purchased tools from random brands (whatever is on deal). Now I am thinking for the long run, and like you said, getting into an ecosystem. I do want to keep it cost-effective and a reputable brand, which both are.

I know it's controversial but anyone interested would be better off buying the kit I linked below, choose something like the jigsaw as your free tool, then just return the jigsaw once you get it.
