FRS according to their pictures. I could not find transmission power, but strangely their website had an AI label. Guess what. No AI in this. Amazon reviews say 0.5W transmission on FRS channels (presumably 8-14) and 2W on GMRS channels (presumably all others).

Barely 2 miles unless you're in a completely open area with line of sight. No one uses these on top of two mountains to communicate with each other at great distances shake head

Neither of my talkabout batteries no longer work, lasted not even a year and a half--used them about 4 times. Total garbage, Motorola is trash at this point in my experience.
