While, I'm sure that's a deal for many - I'm not willing to take the chance on a device which cooks food for my family. Previous owner could have cooked kittens...or meth...or whatever in theirs. I know that sounds extreme, but I have lost all trust in humanity.

Comparable to the Duo Plus model. Sale price used to be $55, $65 in prior years but still a good deal if you're in the market.

it's really not that hard to find these at a thrift store for $20-30 now

Is there any other higher end models that would be worth buying over this if I want to buy one and not regret missing out on anything? I never owned one of these and want the most versatile one. Also, does this use a traditional nema power cord, really prefer this on my appliances if possible and its hard to find info on which ones have these and dont

Building on your comment, this is an electrical device, that gets very hot, that people will leave on for hours, likely unattended. Not worth saving a few bucks for that risk.

I don't know if I've seen one that uses a detachable NEMA cord. Most I've seen are hardwired with a short cord. This is likely to avoid liability due to someone using too long of a cord, insufficient gage, or other user error.

It varies with models. My classic Duo has a detachable cord. I'm sure there are others. If you search amazon for replacement cords they'll list compatibility, e.g., this listing includes the Duo Plus:

COMPATIBLE WITH - Instant Pot DUO Mini, Duo Evo, Pro, and Pro Crisp, Instapot DUO PLUS MINI, Insta pot DUO60, DUO50, DUO Plus60, DUO Plus Mini, Smart 60 Bluetooth, Ultra, Ultra 6, and Ultra 60, Instant Zest Rice Cooker, Power Cooker PC-TRI6, PCXL-PRO6, PCXL-PRO8, PPC770, PPC770-1, PPC780, PPC790, PPC773, and PC-WAL1, Pressure Cooker / Rice Cooker / Soy Milk Maker / Slow Cooker / CPC-600 Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker, and Power Quick Pot All series. Pls Note: Does not fit Crock Pot

Another listing includes the Duo Nova (discontinued model) and another
...Viva Mini,Viva 60,Nova Plus,Smart WiFi,Duo SV,Ultra Mini,Ultra 60,Duo Nova Mini,Duo Nova 60, and Duo Gourmet Pressure Cooker

I had an OG instapot that I loved. It started having ghost touch issues after many years, so I replaced it.

In the modern world of IPs, you need to get a pro model if you want to do any searing or browning in pot. I hate my current IP Duo because it doesn't get hot enough. Sautee function is really only good for pre-heating (not very well) or reducing liquid (it will simmer after a pressure cook just fine). I thought the new equivalent would be an upgrade, but it really wasn't.

Yep. Very passable rice cooker, once you learn to wash rice and go 1:1 ratio.

They suck as a slow cooker, because all the heat comes from the bottom. In a traditional slow cooker, the pot is warmed by the bottom and sides, and the insert (crock) has a lot of thermal mass. You need to stir an IP in slow cooker mode a lot more than a traditional slow cooker.
