I was going to get this until I found the plastic dish holders are permanently attached to the cooking bowls. That makes it a bit of a pain to wash the exterior and and keep them clean.

i have this and use this. Great form factor and easy to store away. SUPER easy to clean. also...wth are you doing that makes the airfryer so dirty on the outside? the plastic parts on the glass bowls are a non-issue for clean up.
There's silicone ring that makes contact with the rim of the glass, but it's silicone and not to be confused with the broader definition of "plastics" which can encompass a lot of other things.
Take the advice from someone who actually uses and cleans this Ninja Crispi. Freakin love mine. You can't load it up like a basket one, but some argue that you should not load up a basket one to the brim because it cooks unevenly. To each their own.

My wife got this for free from some influencer thing. I balked, saying it was Ninja junk taking up space when we already had an air fryer. I use this product at least once a week. It's awesome. If I worked in the office, I'd totally keep it in a drawer to reheat my food but I use it at home all the time.

this reminds me of the "infrared" cookers from the 1990's
i threw mine away years ago as it couldn't even bake pizza.
i have an 8" square cosori air fryer - love it,
use it daily in place of the old toaster oven.

This is a fantastic air fryer. It is dishwasher safe and highly recommended. Price is showing $159.99 in the app and online. :-(

Would it still be considered an air fryer if it was easy to clean?

I think there's a requirement when designing an air fryer that it has to be unreasonably difficult to clean.

There's also plastic edge all around the cover right under the stainless steel grate at the top, if you look closely. Was a no for me either. i don't want plastic heating up and getting into my food.
nah, that part doesn't seem to get hot enough and there's no direct contact with the food. it's also not right under the heating element, but outside and around. Specifically when using it, heating element, metal, silicone ring, glass, plastic base.

That all depends on what an individual's opinion of clean is. Just like some people don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, then will sit down for a meal and think they are clean. I think not so much....My family likes to thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of items, but others may choose not to.

What about the plastic on the glass? That gets hot doesn't it?
