If you truly want/need a 15", I disagree with the person who said you can get better than this for $1k. However, I suppose there is an argument for 12" subs performing just as well or better. The consensus in the audiophile community is SVS (best all around), REL (best premium), and RSL (best budget). I recommend RSL. Not that I can't afford more, but it's just a sub and money can be better spent elsewhere. It's also more likely to punch above it's weight out of the 3, while still having the quality sound that each of these brands are known for. Great company too, that stands by their products. Their 12" goes for $885 with free shipping. You can also get 10% off if you have Govx ID.
Sealed sub with frequency response down to 20hz, show us "much better" for $1000 or less please. This is a very good price for this kind of performance in 2025.

you might be the first person i have heard say that about "svs subs dying"..
This. SVS support is outstanding; I'm hoping he at least called them; if under warranty (and sometimes for years after) they'll freely replace the amp module (the thing most likely to die), and then for YEARS after the warranty they will sell the amp module as a drop in replacement to get the subwoofer fully 100% working again.

Yep. He also mentions "subs" as in plural. The odds of that are pretty low..
