It's JBL, not some off brand junk. Go read the Walmart reviews before casting aspersions. Averages 4.5 of 5 stars with 76% giving it 5 stars.

He's right, these low watt small driver subs are junk. They make up for what the soundbar drivers lack, but they don't rumble

OK I'll bite. What's a better deal on a premium brand 3.1 soundbar setup with wireless sub?

Yep, current Frontpage deal. This one is also brand new, with a scuffed or dented box that you'll throw away an hour after the freight driver drops it off. And an extra $20 in your pocket.

Nothing with free shipping and returns, you've got me there I'm just commenting on how the subwoofer sucks. I'm not sure why it's included. My best suggestion would be to get a sonos ray- similar base response with better sound quality and extra feature. But they are like $200

So, a 10W 2.0 soundbar with much smaller bass drivers for nearly twice the price? ($219 on Amazon). And a 4.2 of 5 stars average. Maybe the Sonos has better clarity, I honestly have no idea. But the JBL has some glowing reviews. To me the JBL seems like a vastly better value. Granted it's for smaller spaces and won't rattle the windows, nothing in this price range will do that. But JBL is known for exceptional sound quality, and I can personally vouch for that.

Take reviews with a grain of salt, first off. Do a little research if you don't believe me. I use a jbl soundbar myself in my living room, and have a variety of different audio setups across different locations. The sonos ray is more clear and balanced than my 1300x. 3.1 means nothing. Plenty of 2.0 setups have more clarity from a phantom center channel. And if the sub isn't good, it doesn't matter. I'd take a pair of b&w speakers in a 2.0 setup for music over my 11.4.1 setup easily

Adding on. JBL is not known for exceptional sound quality. It is known for value.

To each his own. I found that the perfect home theater setup for my ears is a pair of old Bose 501s front and center (under my big screen actually), spread about 3 feet apart, with Polk surrounds and a BIC V-1220 12" 430W powered sub. I get nuance, beautiful treble and midrange, and thundering clean bass that'll rattle your bones at high volume settings. The 10" woofers in the 501s really fill in the mid-bass and make the low end very crisp. Finding what works is such an individual thing, and quite subjective.

At the end of the day, I'm here to save money and help others do the same. I do miss the days when you could walk into an audio store and listen to competing products side by side, instead of relying on online reviews and media reviews. I guess that's the price for better value from an online marketplace.

Oh I forgot to mention that the 501s have Kicker 10" drivers instead of the Bose factory ones. The foam surrounds on the Bose 10" drivers fell apart years ago and I had the Kickers on hand so I threw them in as replacements. They've done a fine job, and are arguably better than the Bose originals in this application.

Damaged box could also mean someone dropped it off the truck or a tv box fell on it though. For $20 I'd rather have the extra security knowing there was decreased likelyhood of the product itself being damaged.

It's nice to have the option either way. The cheapskates (of which I am definitely one) may go this way as there's no risk...free and easy return if there's an issue.

Of course, an undamaged box item could have been dropped, as well. Just no signs of damage. I'm sure my parents dropped me on my head several times. But there's no visible sign of it. Huh
