Specs are confusing. It says Ultra 9 285H, but picture on Staples says 185H. Then Asus website indicates models S5606CA comes with Ultra 7 255H or Ultra 5 225H. Which is it?

This specific model number shows the Ultra 9 285H on Asus' site as well. Scroll down to the last model on this page:

https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/f...ere-to-buy

The last model on that page matches the exact model number from the Staples listing. The specs on the product page at Staples also shows the Ultra 9 285H.

Overall the deal looks decent, the only thing that kills it for me is only 16GB of RAM without an upgrade path.

I"m not fan of any vivabooks but Ok spec for 880 notebook after tax. Puny 1tb(possibly dramless)/16g ram are shameful... out to provide fan noise/heat temperatures info....

Wish it had 32 gb of RAM, 16 GB is too less for such a processor

They carry both the 185H and the 285H model, make sure you get the 285 one. The CPU in this thing SCREAMS, it's somewhat confusing how it's this capable and fast given the relatively pedestrian build quality and meh-ness of this laptop, but if you're looking for amazing performance... I had this laptop for a while and it drove my Ark 2 ( 4k@165Hz ) flawlessly *while* handing full software engineering workloads in ways that no other non-gaming laptop I've ever used has really been able to. Cores to spare, and the p-cores are just lightning. Best mobile CPU overall I've ever used bar none

Also for anyone curious Staples *most of the time* has this marked down to $850, despite the higher MSRP they list. So you can almost always get it for that price. This is still a great deal in my opinion, but just sharing the info

I saw it for slightly cheaper once using an on-page coupon, and created a deal out of it, but my personal take is because of the REALLY great OLED panel in this one and the REALLY REALLY great CPU, this is a great buy at $800

People claiming 16GB isn't enough, we don't need to fight, but y'all crazy in the gen 4 SSD era, you do not need 32GB for almost any of your workflows

Only time I can remember it being cheaper:
